Do not think that men are not influenced by such stereotypes. All this macho, great images, are not contributing to ideals that are off reality?
How many men, go the gym and takes lots of chemicals just to pump up muscles and harm theis health?
Not to mention the gay members, that dream of this ideal men, and relationship, things that 99% do not combine together, because who is investing in this, is looking for a fuck partner and not for a relationship...
Get down to earth, and invest in the person, not in the image of him...

Well, there is objective beauty based on criteria by modelling agencies, and subjective beauty, based on what anyone finds beautiful.
Objective beauty (fit body, symmetrical face, etc.) is much more difficult to attain, therefore for me this is real beauty.
Having said that, I like Dove's campaign to focus on "natural-looking" faces. Maybe they're not beautiful in the absolute sense, but definitely charming.
PS. As for people taking supplements at the gym, the "chemicals" you mention are usually steroids, which are illegal and harmful to one's body.
However, most people take other supplements such as protein or amino-acids that actually have benefits for one's health.

well of course I donot men the heathy supplements. Beuty is so obective...and all people have a certain beauty. Todays society pattern of beauty is all about what you describe, but in the middle ages, when people did not usually eat well, and lack of food was the rule, the beauty and health were the fat women.
I think we should start looking at the real aspect, that all poeple have a beauty, and what is looking beauty is not necessarily healthy...
Accepting diffences, accepting each other. Stop looking at the images, but looking up to the ethical and spiritual examples. This is my view of the point.
Achiving an equilibrium is good looking, even if it is not in the not real beauty patern....
