Down to the rabbit hole

What the Bleep do We know?"

It has been some time I have heard about the film : What the Bleep Do We Know!? . It is about a controversial 2004 film that combines documentary interviews and a fictional narrative to posit a connection between science and spirituality. I really suggest you to see, but it is not easy to watch, too many cientific terms but keep concentrated and you will be impressed. Physicists' depositions, philosophers and mystics affirm that the matter is not solid as we thought: it is ethereal and changeable and our thoughts can alter material. We can have control over our body, diseases and emotions, because we can choose the reality in that we want to live and like this to alter our lives.
But what reallyimpressed me what this:The water of a mountain source was x-rayed and photographed by Dr. Masaru Emoto (http://www.masaru-emoto.net/ /) um scientist and it had a certain composition, after puting the ideogram of Love in the bottle of one of the sample and blessed by a Buddhist monk, it was X-rayed again while it was freezing, and presented a more colored and impresive crystal structure. And the scientist says, if we are done basically of water, 65% of human body, then a prayer would have this same effect in the human body. People! it was so impresive. If someone ever was in a spiritualistic concentration here in Brazil can observe that the most important element is the existence of water which later this waters is as like blessed by the presence of the spirits. Coincidence? Next day I was in the spiritualistic center, and a girl there had one copy, and when I commented about the film everyone wanted to see it...

Dr. Masaru Emoto (http://www.masaru-emoto.net/) is an researcher who has gained acclaim by showing how water is deeply connected to our individual and collective consciousness. Masaru Emoto's work (The Hidden Messages in Water) plays a prominent role in a scene set in a light-rail tunnel of the movie, where the main character happens upon a presentation of displays showing images of water crystals. In the movie, "before" and "after" photographs of water are presented as evidence that specific words written on pieces of paper and affixed to different containers of water have the power to transform the water into being able to freeze into beautiful crystalline shapes instead of ugly crystalline shapes.
Emoto's work is criticised for being more artistic than scientific. His doctoral certification is on alternative medicine from an unaccredited institution. His work has never been subjected to peer review, and he does not utilize double blind methodology. Emoto also claims that polluted water does not crystallize. Depending on the properties of the pollutant, heavily polluted water will still form crystals, though the crystals may contain more crystallographic defects than pure water would. These changes in the way the crystals form can be readily explained using basic chemistry and physics.
Emoto appears to have arbitrarily decided what constitutes a "brilliant crystal" and an "incomplete crystal."

Hugo: Ben vindo e obrigado.
