cirquedisco
I was yesterday invited by my french greekspeaking friend to a spanish cirquedisco as I named it after...It was a strange idea but reaaly like it! I think it was a long time I had such a genuine and so original fun.. ok carnaval in Bahia was also great, but this was out of expectations. The place was a circus, with a tent and a circle in the centrer for the show...only that the espectators were able to dine in tables arround the place. The food was nothing too special but good and was of spanish inspiration, sea food and tortillas...at the end they served a french sweet which I fond delicious too. The show was sort and simple, no lions or other impressive things, but with the music thei cheered up the crowed, when the 2 sort shows were completed the people jumped in the centre and started to dance to the old hits (french or international) of the DJ. But the best thing is that everybody and I mean everybody were dancing not caring what the others are doing and it was so nice environment,,,so cool, the songs could have been from a gay bar hitlist too...it was disco and 80'ies mainly...I really enjouyed so much...and both me and Sadrin had the same question why in Greece and articularly in Athens people do not dance any more? Ok you can get it in some places but people prefer to stay in places with loud music not able to conversate have a drink and move slightly their bodies...so boring!!!!
I might be wrong for non athens night life but my impression is that people today only dance in the tipical 2nd class greek skiladika where terrible hits and girls showing of in oriental rythms...
I have missed the original fun of dancing disco or something and just be yourself...
At least in Brasil things are not like in Athens..
so lets see the next weeks how this will be...
Leaving for the airport now....

Λοιπόν, θα απαντήσει κανείς στο ερώτημά μας : ΓΙΑΤΙ ΔΕΝ ΧΟΡΕΥΟΥΝ ΣΤΗΝ ΑΘΗΝΑ;
